FTSE LIVE: British Gas owner's profits tumble; Dixons Carphone admits data breach hit 10m customers

British Gas owner Centrica has suffered a blow to its bottom line as its household gas and electricity supply arm was hit by last year’s pre-payment price cap, the loss of another 1.4 million customers and rising wholesale energy prices.

Elsewhere, on what is a busy day of corporate updates, Just Eat said order numbers have surged 30 per cent, and Dixons Carphone admitted that its huge data breach in 2017 impacted the personal data records of 10million customers, up from the 1.2million it originally thought.
